finally, an update

Yippidappydoooo...Ceri's journal is here!! Two days ago I still was very frustrated about the delays but now I'm very very happy. Sorry Caty that this update comes just behind your beautiful "Red-Christmas-Post".

So I won't do an own Christmas post but wishing you all some wonderful holidays!! See you next year.

has arrived much to my delight! I am hard at work on it and aim to send it on next week along with pages to Di. I am really enjoying the glimpses into everyone's day to day life. I can't wait until mine makes it way back to me ( by then I will be in my new home in London...)

I just wanted to let you girls know I received my journal last Friday and I’ve started posting full pages from my journal on my blog...today are my pages and the covers...throughout this week I will be posting all the pages...thanks so much for making my journal so lovely!!! I must apologise for taking so long on Dawn's journal.
I have been caught up finishing the class art work( that's a detail from it in the picture). It is almost complete now, so I promise that this weekend I will finish my pages and send it on to Joei.

two arrivals....

Not only did baby Grace arrive on schedule but guess what else turned up in my mail last week?
A journal!!!!! Hedvig arrived safely and was greeted by me with much excitement. I enjoyed being able to see in person what every one has been up to. And finally I have been able to join the fun! Hedvig should be on his way to the next in line this weekend( I just have to find out who!)

Considering the fact, that another 3 books will arrive in my postbox during the next two weeks, I had a talk to Marianne:
I will post Olga's journal to MArianne tomorrow. The next one that arrives here will go to Joei and then back to Marianne. The third one to Marianne...and so on.

Delayed again (not for long though... yey)

I have an eye infection which I don't want to send around the globe. Have a last page to do. Docs say I should avoid contact for 48 hours as I'm contagious, but I will post it off after that.

I like the new deadline thing though - gave me impetus and I'm enjoying it. Hoping to post this off on Friday.

I sent a mail to Sia, I think she has to make a decision...
For all of you who are in delay ( and this are all of you, hehe..): 5th. May<- new deadline!! For everybody, who has no VERY well excuse and who lets me know ;)
( I hope so much, that you can see me writing all this with a big grin on my face...)

(I believe, that being creative has something to do with " keep it going" and the long bench is a kind of deadline for any creativity...Sorry, my very personal feeling)

How is everybody doing?

It would be great if everybody gave news about the journals :)

But at least there is only one thing I would like to say: Sia, would you please go on!! If you're not able to work on the books, please send them to me and you will get them to work on at a later point or something similiar!!

It's great, that you all are working on the substitute- pages for Sia and Di!
I think I will add a post with some inspiration for encouraging you all a bit!!

Uschi, thank you for e-mailing me too. I will send the journals to Dawn directly from now on. I will work on the substitution for Sia's and Di's too.

I received Marianne's journal today from Sue...Hope everyone's well!

for Sia and Di....substitute pages

this drawing shows how you can prepare and cut some sheets ( and create them afterwards ;)) as a substitute for Sia's and Di's lost journals. Please, EVERYBODY, comment this. The sheets are planned according to the second variation of binding I showed you some days ago.
The empty frame on the left side is necessary for the binding.
If anything isn't clear, please ask!!

Sorry, sorry, perhaps it's clearer now: I marked two journals (Di and Sia) as lost. They were lost on the way from Sia to Marianne. So we decided, that Sia should send to me and leave out Marianne. I'm still waiting for those two(Olga and Ceri)...

I sent Sia two e-mails because I think we've got a "from-Sia-to" problem, but I have absolutely no idea what that could be.....Perhaps I've been wrong and she hasn't yet sent them... We will send loose sheets to Di and Sia when they've decided on the shape!

book-binding

As I told you, here are two possibilities for a simple book:

this first one is like an accordion, single sheets with a frame on one side, where you can glue the pages together. In this case it would be better to only use one page of the sheet.
the second variation are pages, divided in half, where the empty frame is on both ends of the page( äääähhhhm, are you able to visualize this :((()...in the example above I "used" 8 sheets of paper....

Di and Sia, what do you say?? I want to nail that down.

Hello everyone,

Sia told me, that she'll send Olga's and Ceri's journal to me...I will send them to Marianne.

I don't believe, that Sia's and Di's journals will show up again.

So please Sia and Di:

decide, which size the pages send to you should have. I don't think, it makes sense to decide on the kind of paper, that should be used, because every single designed page appears different.

The pages should have a margin on the left side to bind them, when all pages are collected. I will look for an example to show you.

Sia and Di do you have photos of the pages, you've already done?? Would you send them to us or post them here??

Concerning Marianne: she has good news, indeed (:)), but unfortunately not concerning our project.
We decided to change the direction, now Sia will send Olgas and Ceris journal to me and I will send them to Marianne....
Sia had the flue, so I'm waiting for an answer from her concerning the following proposition:
She decides about a size of sheets and we all send her single sheets with can be bind afterwards.
Di, what do you think. I've not prepared myself for the possibility, that ALL books in a certain direction dissapear.....
I will do the schedule on Monday, after the next journals have gone to the post-office!

I have finished with Caty's journal at last! I am so sorry that it has taken so long!!  I hope to get to the post office tomorrow - it's going to be on it's way Sia!!
